Hello, my name is Peter Grosskreuz, I created Deck Tune Up and Construction 38 years ago. I started doing building projects like fences, spa stairs, and spa enclosure cabinets for different hot tub dealerships.

For the next 20 years, all I did was new construction decking, mainly through those hot tub dealerships and landscapers. When the events of 9/11 happened, nobody was putting on new construction decks, buying hot tubs, or doing big landscape projects, so I lost a lot of my contacts— some of these places went out of business, or my contacts moved on to pursue other careers.

So, I began wondering what to do for my floundering career as a deck builder. This is when I created the Deck Tune Up side of my business, where I sand and seal existing decks, replace rotten joists, or do a combination of everything, including new railings to give a deck an updated look.
